2016 Community Garden Update
This spring we were blessed to have a professional builder and his assistant construct four new raised beds bringing our total raised garden beds to 12! A volunteer trucked in a load of organic compost to help fill the new beds. It was our first growing season without the threat of groundhogs helping themselves to our plants. Needless to say, it has been a fantastic summer for our gardens! Everything has flourished, and I think it was the best tomato yielding summer on record for me. We needed to water for several weeks during our region’s drought, but the sunny days sure did grow some great vegetables. Future plans: install water faucets within the garden fence for better access and less hassle.
